I am grateful for Dark Rooms

I have the loudest child on the planet. For this I do believe that most of my family will back me up and completely agree. She was born screaming, and it hasn't stopped. She has the loudest, ear shrilling squeal known to mankind. She talks loud even. I often find myself counting to ten in a dark room with my ears plugged just to calm down. The words "Pajha, PLEASE PLEASE stop screaming" are heard over and over again all day. She screams when she is happy, excited, angry, scared, and sad. There are different levels of this screaming, some are harder to take in than others but they all make me want to run away. Yesterday I was sewing (a new hobby I am desperately trying to pick up on) and the kids were outside playing, LOUDLY of course. I was concentrating on what I was doing and didn't really mind the loudness coming from outside, they were getting along, and having fun. What more could I want? I poked myself with a pin and it hurt. So... I said "OUCH!!!" a little louder than my normal quiet voice when from outside I heard my darling LOUD daughter yell "OKAY, okay mom I will be quieter!" in a very annoyed LOUD voice.
