I can't believe in just a few days my baby will be in kindergarten. She has grown up way too fast for my liking... but I have to admit, I am ready for a little bit of ALONE time. :)
When I realized that she would be needing her Kindergarten shots I broke out in a sweat. Honestly... if you haven't experienced something like that with Pajha you are LUCKY! In fact it wasn't until her last set of shots that I learned how fiesty my daughter is. I had no clue she had such a..... temper. Once the shots were administered I had to hold her back from going after the poor nurse. Fists flying, legs kicking.. she wanted to do some damage. We experienced this again when she had her ears pierced a couple of years ago. We went to some store in the mall just across from where my sister was working, sat her down in the big chair, let her pick out her special earings and went for it. DID NOT GO AS PLANNED. After the first one was pierced she LOST HER MIND. Punching the poor girl. Screaming like nothing I have ever heard. My sister eventually came over to see what had happened. Well one is in... now what. We had to finish what we started so I held her down while the now terrified young girl did the other ear only the back didn't go on, so yay it is pierced but no back to keep it on. NIGHTMARE. So again, we had to hold her down to get the back on. The second I let her go she went after the poor girl again. I felt so bad... I was so embarrassed. I wonder how much business they lost that day.
Imagine my panic now realizing that she had to get 5 shots... FIVE.....this week.... all at once... and I had to take her.... alone..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I decided to talk with her about it starting a week ago... a little each day we talked about the shots she had to get and why she had to get them and it was going really well. She was brave and continued asking me how many more days it was until she got her shots. SHOT DAY arrived and surprisingly she was perky and ready to go. She was being SO BRAVE. I was sure that I was going to have to ask to have every available nurse hold her down until I knew she wasn't going to kick someones butt. Right up until the nurse said "Okay mom, come hold her arms down for me" she was fine. I don't know why that scared her... I mean everyone wants to be told they are going to be held down right? WHY DO THEY SAY THAT? She lost it, but I was able to hold her down and the nurse was able to do them really quick and after about 3 days of whining and "not being able to walk" she survived it. And I lived to tell about it... and so did the nurse.

Reading about your past experiences, I would be nervous too. It looks like you prepared her well this time and I'm glad everything went as well as it could go with getting 5 shots. Oh man I am not looking forward to that.
I HATE shots day!! It's so horrible!! Well, I'm glad everyone survived it!! GOOD JOB Pajha!! Hope all is well with ya'll!! We miss you sooooo much!! Hope to see you in a couple months!! WAHOO!!
LUVS!!
I feel your pain...not quite to that extent, but still. I think it's so funny (sorry, I do) that she goes after the nurse. My kids are always mad at me & want to know why I let them do that. I do agree with you that there are things doctors & nurses just shouldn't say outloud. They work with kids all day long...come on! They should know they hear EVERYTHING! I'm glad she got them & it's over now for both of you!
P.S. Thanks so much for your love & support for my family. You're so great!!! Love & miss ya!
Kelcey was ALWAYS a nightmare to take in for shots- I imagine that I have experienced exactly what you went through with Pajha! I am sorry- but it is a little funny!
