The case of the missing cushions

Be prepared, this is going to be a long one. Feel free to move on with your life!!!! Needless to say it has been busy around here since we arrived. We decided to "change up" some of our existing furniture a little bit. By that I mean our entertainment center needed some updating to prepare it for our TV that should be arriving sometime in the next month from Cyprus. The way it was before there was no way we would be able to fit our TV. So instead of buying a new one (which by the way probably would have cost much less) Bjay went to work in the garage sanding, busting out shelves and recreating what we have now. I have to admit the long hours he spent sanding and I spent staining were worth it. It looks NOTHING like what it used to. I love it. We decided... why stop there?? So he went to work on our coffee table. LOVE IT! We still have two end tables to do and just started on our kitchen table and chairs. A little hobby I guess you could call it. It gives me something to do besides clean and it is fun to know that we did it ourselves. On another note.... on our arrival we discovered that somehow, somewhere we have lost the cushions to our loveseat. Neither one of us can figure out just what the heck happened to the darn things. If anyone finds them... please do let me know :) There may be a reward... it might just be a big huge hug but it is a reward!

You can't really tell from the picture but the end tables are the original, Bjay completely re-did the legs of the coffee table and the color is completely different.

Here is my kitchen. It is probably my favorite room in the house, I spend a lot of time in there :) Updates: Peyton is doing better in school. He still has his days but over all I am having less "meetings" with the teacher after school, and getting a thumbs up instead. Phew! He loves Karate and goes twice a week. Pajha is loving dance. Tap is her favorite. She loves the noises the shoes make. Big surprise. They will have a recital in July, I can't wait to see her on stage! That is where she shines! The kids have been so funny since arriving back in the states. Mostly with commercials. We aren't used to seeing anything but military commercials so these are all new to them. Of course every toy they see they want... and beg for... right then and there! But it doesn't stop with toys. For example, Pajha is certain that I need to buy Spin-Lash. Anyone heard of this? Pajha saw it one day and ever since then she tries to sell me on it. Her argument is "Mom... don't you know that the lash curler you use could hurt you? It could poke your eye out. Plus it pulls your eyelashes out. With spin lash it wouldn't do that. Your eyelashes would be beautiful". When we were at the store the other day she saw the makeup aisle and shouted out "MOM, go see if they have Spin lash!!!!". Peyton saw it one day and came running to find me. He thinks I need it too. Silly kids. Maybe they are trying to tell me something. Aside from our hobbies Bjay and I have been busy with other things as well. He is working his butt off and hating it! I really wish he enjoyed his job, and could find something that he loved, but I really don't want to move again any time soon so he better just start to enjoy this one for now :) I began my training a couple of weeks ago, and have already seen some big changes in my body. I have always had a very strong passion for fitness. I remember as a little girl watching The American Gladiators and just being obsessed with those strong women. They amazed me. I wanted to be on that show! Now things have changed just a little bit. I have always built muscle very easy and in some ways hated it but have decided to put it to the test. I am entering a figure competition. YIKES. Saying it scares me, which is why I haven't really said it to too many people. What if I fail? I hate failing. What if I fall on stage? I hate falling. The thing I love about figure is that the women aren't HUGE, they are just lean and toned and that is something I think I can do. To set a goal and accomplish it. To be in the best shape of my life after having had two kids, and reaching my 30th year of life (ACK!). Without steroids, or looking like a man! Awesome. So here it begins. My trainer is awesome. She is 44 years old, has three kids and looks amazing! She has been competing for a while now, and has her Pro card and thinks she can have me ready really soon! We are shooting for the end of March, if that doesn't happen then I will wait until June! So there you have it. I said it. I am terrified. But I am determined. Wish me luck! I am gonna need it! Last weekend we took the kids to the Wild Animal Park, it was so much fun. We loved it, here are some photos of our fun day!

Last week was awesome. My sister Shelli and her husband had to come to San Diego for some sort of fire fighters convention (I think, he he) and they drove out to see us and have lunch with us. They got to play with the kids for a while and though they couldn't stay long we enjoyed that few hours so much. Pajha cried the second they drove away because she missed them already! Thanks for squeezing us in guys! It was fun to have you here! We love you, and miss you already!

It is hard to tell who is having more fun here! You know it Shelli, you have a secret passion for playing My little Ponies! I will not wait so long to blog again. I feel like I am so behind right now. I am not sure if I have ever mentioned this but we are very blessed to be living near some of Bjay's family. His Grandparents live only 30 minutes away as well as his Aunt and Uncle. Grandpa called us and invited us to go with them to Escondito this weekend. The Amgen Race was ending Sunday. This is a 8 or 9 day race through California where Lance Armstrong was among them. The final leg alone was 97 miles or something. It ended in Escondito and we got to be at the finish line when the cyclists came in. It was so much fun. They had a little festival with tons of little freebies and booths to visit. I never saw Lance, or anyone for that matter. Heck I still don't even know who won. I should google it. There were too many cameras and people in front of us to see much but I did see the top of a helmet or two as they flew by. I also forgot my camera, so I don't even have any cool pictures to show off but we had so much fun. Thanks for inviting us to go with you guys, we loved it!

I'm so glad you are getting settled & having fun! I am also sad that we didn't get a chance to get together again before you left. We'll just have to look forward to your next visit. Or just maybe, we'll have to come to you:) That's a good idea. Your house is so cute. I hope that Peyton continues to adjust to school...poor thing. Hope all is well, friend:)
