Quack, Quack, Quack

The other morning the kids were eating breakfast when Peyton said "MOM, there are DUCKS in our backyard".... I thought he said "DUST" so I said, "No honey, it is just a bit foggy this morning".... "NO MOM, REALLY THERE ARE DUCKS", when again I heard "Dust" and repeated myself. So he runs over pulls me to the back door and sure enough there were 2 ducks just hanging out in the backyard. I have no clue where they came from, but the kids gave them some bread, they ate and were on their way! They have returned at least twice a day ever since! If we don't see them they literally knock on the back door. Funny ducks! The kids are loving it!
Not only are we seeing ducks but we have this bird in our front yard that is absolutely OBSESSED with my car. It is insane. All day long this bird sits on the mirror, checks itself out by practically going upside down and then tries to attack itself. Not to mention the stuff he leaves behind for me to clean up everyday! Darn bird.
Things are going well for me as far as my goal to compete. I started coming down with a cold yesterday which has made me a little weak today but I am pushing through. I have managed to gain about 8 lbs of muscle and lose around 5 pounds of fat over the last few weeks. I have reached my goal of 12% body fat as of last Monday (although it will get lower..... I hope), and am set to compete on March 28th! My suit will be ready to pick up on Thursday, I am anxious to see it. I went last week to get resized and fitted and it was beautiful without all of the rhinestones so I can't wait to see the finished product! I am getting really excited! And nervous!
Saturday I finally decided that I should get my hair done before the competition. I just wanted my roots retouched and my highlights fixed. No biggie, should have been an easy fix so I called a salon here and went in. I am always leery of trying new stylists. I am lucky to have a family full of hairdressers and a best friend that does hair so I have never really had to worry, but I had a good reason to worry this time. I have no CLUE what the heck the girl was trying to do to me but she RUINED my hair. I didn't notice it while I was there because I got my nails done right afterwards and just put my hair up in a pony tail but when I got home and really looked at it I wanted to cry. I had a ring around the top of my head about 2 inches long of BLONDE... no more highlights just a blonde looking regrowth like a little hat on my head. THEN upon further investigation I found chunks of grayish purple around my face. UGH! NOOOOOOOO! The salon was closed by then and I didn't want to wait until MONDAY to get it fixed (heaven forbid I have to go in public) so I drove as fast as I could to the nearest beauty supply house and picked up some color and fixed it myself. This is when I am greatful for the beauty school dropout in me. No more highlights though. Sad. I will never again trust another soul. I will just have to get my hair done everytime I visit Utah by those that I trust.

OK! What is up with the GREEN grass!!! SO NOT FAIR!!! We still have "patches" of snow.... DANG!!! I want green, luscious, soft grass! I just can't wait!

That is so fun to have fun little ducks... MESSY but cute! We use to have deer "chillin'" in our back yard.. but not anymore! JUST DOG MESS! I hate that! I don't even own a dog! What is up with that!

Send some sunshine our way - would ya! I could really use some "cheerfulness!"

Enjoy the "quacks!"

Hey - get a picture of the mirror bird... I bet that is hilarious!

The ducks look like a lot of fun as long as they don't leave a mess in the yard. I bet the kids enjoy feeding them. You must look awesome...I am envious of your 12% body fat. I think the vain bird must have migrated there from the east coast. 2 years ago we had a bird that did the exact same thing to my mom's car. It would stand on the mirror and just look at itself. She ended up putting plastic bags on her mirrors so it couldn't see itself and poop all over her car. good luck with the competition...post some pics!

I have been waiting for the vain bird (nicely put Dore) to appear today so I could get a pic... and what do ya know... it hasn't come yet. I don't know what is going on but usually it is there ALL DAY LONG... maybe it's camera shy????
