Happy Mother's Day!!!

Things my mother taught me:

  1. My mother taught me to APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE. "If your going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning."
  2. My mother taught me RELIGION. "You better pray that comes out of the carpet".
  3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL. "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
  4. My mother taught me LOGIC. "Because I said so, that's why". (I find myself saying this at least a hundred times a day)
  5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC. "If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me".
  6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT. "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident".
  7. My mother taught me IRONY. "Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about".
  8. My mother taught me about the Science of OSMOSIS. "Shut your mouth and eat your supper".
  9. My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM. "Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"
  10. My mother taught me about STAMINA. "You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone".
  11. My mother taught me about WEATHER. "This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it".
  12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY. "If I told you once, I've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!"
  13. My mother taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE. "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!"
  14. My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. "Stop acting like your Father!"
  15. My mother taught me about ENVY. "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do".
  16. My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION. "Just wait until we get home!"
  17. My mother taught me about RECEIVING. "You are going to get it when you get home!"
  18. My mother taught me about MEDICAL SCIENCE. "If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way".
  19. My mother taught me ESP. "Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you are cold?"
  20. My mother taught me HUMOR. "When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me".
  21. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT. "If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up".
  22. My mother taught me GENETICS. "You're just like your Father".
  23. My mother taught me about my ROOTS. "Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"
  24. My mother taught me WISDOM. "When you get to be my age, you'll understand".
  25. And my favorite: My mother taught me about JUSTICE. "One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you".

I know some of you have probably already seen this before but I thought it was perfect! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother (who actually did teach me all of these things!!!), and a wonderful Mother in Law! I am grateful for everything they do for me and the love and support that they offer to my family! I have always admired my mom for having 9 kids.... I honestly don't know how she did it. I mean HELLO... birth control!!!! Having 2 is hard enough for me! After having Peyton I wasn't sure what kind of birth control I should use. I had tried a couple of different pills but they always made me sick. So I called up my mom for advice. This is what she told me, "I don't know Kerryne, I never used it!". Well.....that was suddenly very obvious... but I thought it was funny! My mom loves all of her kids so much... and I know that having us in a different country has been really hard for her, she is very supportive and I am grateful for that. She is very unselfish and would do anything for us even if that meant she would go without! My Mother in Law is really supportive in all of our decisions as well. She is a very cheerful, kind, and genuine person! And a mother of 6... again... HOW did you do it??? They have both taught me so much! Happy Mother's Day Mom's!!!!! I love you both dearly!

And also, Happy Mother's Day to all of my beautiful friends and my amazing, incredible and beautiful sisters and sis-in-law's.... and well rather than spouting out a list of all of the wonderful women I know I wish you all a wonderful day full of relaxation and love (not cleaning, which is all I have been doing today!!!). Your all amazing women who I am extremely blessed to have in my life. I love you!!!

Happy Mothers Day to you!!! You are GREAT mom!! You AMAZE me! Isn't it funny how we just don't see ourself as "great moms"? Everyone else notices but us...odd... but you are truely amazing! Your kids are so fortunate to have you and blessed with all the opportunities you (& Bjay) give to them. Heavenly Father blesses us as we go along, He guides and directs us - and YES He even steps in to protect and watch over our (well HIS) children when we may not be available. THAT is a great blessing and comfort to me - PLUS he has sent other MOMS to be on guard also - how many times have we been in the right place to help someone elses child? Just the other day at the store a small child was climbing (or trying to) climb out of the cart and my heart fell - I thought for sure that child was going to fall on his head - I watched as his mom was looking at something not really paying attention, so I watched from a distance then felt very inclined to get closer - just in time to catch and break the fall...of course the mom was at first thinking I was trying to steal the child, then realized what was happening...I wondered at that time - how many mom's (or dads) have saved my kids at different times from different falls? THANK YOU ALL!....it is comforting to know that there are many great moms out there (and dad's as well).

Keep up the wonderful MOTHERING job you do! It doesn't matter HOW many kids you birth - once a mom - FOREVER a mom! TOO MANY!!!

Love you sis!!!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!!!!

I went to my parents ward on Mother's Day & talked with your mom a little. She is very much looking forward to you moving home. Of course I'm sure you know that. I can't imagine not having my mom within driving distance for those days when I have to get out & let the kids get out & work off energy. You are incredible. I hope your mother's day was great.
