In the car

Some of the best conversations I have with my kids are in the car. I love talking to them about their days at school and getting asked some pretty interesting questions. As I have said before Peyton's favorite thing to talk about is becoming a daddy and getting married. He told me the other day that he knows what he has to say when he decides to get married. He told me that he has to get down on one knee and pull out a box from his pocket that will have a ring in it and say "will you marry me?". Funny boy. Well today on the way home from school he says "Hey mom, when I decide who I want to marry can she say 'no thank you?'" The questions he asks sometimes... I don't know whether to laugh, cry or just break out my magic stories like the one I used when he asked how he got in my belly and I told him that I ate a little seed that said 'boy' on it and he grew. (I will fix that one when I am ready to... lol). Then he asked how he got out of my belly (sheesh) and I told him I threw up(come on... he was only 5 when he asked this). How do you explain to a 7 year old that life is tough, and that nothing is as magical and wonderful as it may seem? That you will get your heartbroken someday but that it will heal. That when you know, you just know. I just told him that when you really love someone and you have been dating them for a long time you will know that they love you too and if they love you they would never say "no thank you".

-K- How funny are your kids. I hope you write all this down for them. They say the craziest things. Good answer on the "how did I come our of your belly." I can't wait!
