Malls

Today Peyton and I had to make our annual trip to Nicossia (about 45 minutes away) to see his Doctor there. I usually enjoy this trip for two reasons... one is that I get to have the morning with him... alone. The other is that we get to rock to Bonjovi together. I am grateful that my kids have become such big fans of my favorite band. I made his appointment for 9 so that we could head out just after dropping Pajha off at school. That way we could go to THE MALL OF CYPRUS afterwards. Now, to some of you that may not seem very exciting but for us, it is. It's the only mall in Cyprus so far (they are building one just across the street from my house as we speak, yay!). Not that I really enjoy shopping here or anything but it is the closest thing to America that you can get. In fact as we walked in Peyton said "Wow mom... I have a good feeling. I feel like we are in America!". Amazing how perceptive kids can be. So we walked around for a couple of hours. I bought him a Happy Meal in the food court, where I ate some yummy Sushi and we got to just enjoy each others company. I also discovered that they have this fantastic play area that you have to pay money to use but the best part about it is that you can drop your kids off (it is safe, and secure) and shop while they watch your kids. How great is that? I might have to make use of that one someday when I feel like going to "America" again. Anyway, as we were walking out to our car Peyton said to me "thanks mom, that was nice. It is funny how you can walk into the mall and feel like you are in another country and than walk out and feel like you are in a different country again". He amazes me sometimes with just how perceptive he can be! I am so grateful that my kids have had the opportunity to experience so much in life already. To be living in a foreign country, hearing and speaking a new language, and meeting people from all over the world. It's just so awesome!!!
