Pulling my hair out!

Ever feel like this? It has been one of those days for me. My gym partner was MIA this morning so I decided that I would come home and get my disgusting house cleaned. Let me just remind you (or inform you), my entire house upstairs and down is completely tile. Every room, no carpet. It is a nightmare. The fact that I have a dog who apparently sheds like you would not believe makes it a million times harder to get my house cleaned. So I am sweeping, and sweeping, and sweeping no matter how slowly I swept hair was just a flying all over the place. I was getting really mad... then I gave up and ran the mop over it anyway, once, twice, three times. I dumped my water out over and over and just kept going over it until I felt it was clean enough. Took me a few hours (almost 4 to be exact). Whatever.... it was done. FINALLY! So then I picked up the kids from school... and that was the end of that. Ever feel like the ONE day you actually put all your might and strength (and sanity) into cleaning is the ONE day that no one really cares? Well today was that day for me. I just wanted it to stay clean for more than two hours. My kids completely destroyed all the hard work I had put into my home in just a few minutes. Chocolate milk was spilled, TWICE. The dog dragged leaves in over and over again, crayons everywhere, paper everywhere. Pajha even brought in a bucket of water from outside and spilled that everywhere (the bucket happened to also be full of leaves and dirt). *sobbing* this was when I locked myself in my room for a good cry for 20 minutes. I know it isn't something to cry about... but if you only knew how hard I worked just to get that dang dog hair up!

I feel for you. Cleaning with children in the house is a never ending story, and I can't even imagine it with a dog. I am so sorry, and I understand. Talya

Wow! Tile everywhere? That is rough. You had every reason to lock yourself up and cry. Hang in there - we're all in this together (except I'm not there to help :( )!

I'm not sure I would have come out after just 20 minutes. I may have locked myself in for a few hours. One of my biggest frustrations is putting so much time into cleaning & have it completely ruined in a matter of minutes. I really do feel your pain. Sorry about the tile factor, whew, that's a tough break.

I agree with Emily, I don't think 20 minutes is enough. Sounds like you need a vacation...how about Florida.

I think I have decided that once we leave here if I EVER see tile again, I will cry. Honestly. It is going to take me a lifetime to get over this. Thanks for the support girls.. I am glad to know that there are other mom's out there that would have locked themselves away. It makes me feel less loony! A little.

HEY THERE SIS!!!! did you notice...it was FRIDAY the 13th!!! :o) Sorry - just had to throw that in there....I too - UNDERSTAND!!! and you only have 2!!! Imagine having 5 - oh wait - 6!!! and 2 dogs! IT NEVER ENDS!!! It is a continual battle!!! But...I have decided - that one day - I'll laugh...oh wait - I do now!!! Remember the day - that I got up ever so early - like 4:30 am - just to get the house cleaned before the day began...I worked from home and I KNEW if I didn't get it done - it would NOT get done...I had made cinnamon rolls the night before so the older kids had them for breakfast - and I was working away - Bry was almost 2 and the only one home...well and the "pugs!" So as I was working, she was in the kitchen just 20 feet away or so...and I hear this really funny slurping, smacking sound...I look over and can only see the very tip of her head over the countertop- every now and then... and one of the dogs tails just wagging away - then it hit me....someone forgot to put the cream cheese frosting back in the fridge...So, as I got to the 3 of them...in my newly cleaned, scoured, mopped kitchen...there they were - 2 dogs and a toddler - covered in cream cheese frosting... as if it were lotion. The dogs just licking it off of her as fast as they could and she spreading "yotion" on them....AGGHHR! two dogs and a baby to the tub we go...not necessarily in that order...but they went! And that was not enough! As I finished cleaning up the dogs, she got in the fridge and I heard her say - "Mom, dees balls won't bounce...why?....OH!! MY!! GOODNESS!!! Because they are not balls - they are tomatoes.... splattered all over the cupboards, floor, fridge, her! Back to the tub we go! THEN! Just 5 minutes after getting her out of the tub I sat her on the couch to read a book - because my work phone was going CRAZY! and within 3 minutes...she managed to find a marker and scribbled all over the microfiber couch cushion...all I heard was...Mom! Yook! This is a preddy for you!...... This was - pass the child off to a older sibling who LUCKILY just walked in to save her life and the tears just flowed....a few hours later that little toddler came in and said "I sorry mom...I is just a tid....(kid)..." Don't want to burst ya - but as they get bigger - the messes just get bigger too! GOOD LUCK!!! If it is any consolation...they do get big and move out and then....they bring you grandbabies...and the fun starts all over again! LOVE YA!!! :O)

As I recall the event that my Mother is telling you about... I believe I walked in from school and saw my mom crying (out of anger) as she was scrubbing her couch cushion and looked at BryLeigh standing there with something in her mouth I cant remember what is was and my mom said "Amber, you better take her out of here, before I go CRAZY!" So I took BryLeigh down stairs with me and asked her what she did and she told me, "I put yotion on Elbis (Elvis) and Toneynelious (Corney the dogs) and i frowed some balls at the tounter but thems didn't bounce bery well and I drewed a picture for mom and her towch." Ya that explained the angry tears and the you better take her! I think we left and went to the gas station and came back and mom was doing a little better but I was to watch everything that little kid did for the rest of the day!

As for my Mothers Grandkid she doesn't make much of a mess only I do! HA HA Hope you have a better day! And I think you're allowed to lock yourself away in your room for at least and hour per kid, Right? Thats what I was told!
Love you
Amber

Hi Kerryne- well, I'm sure you will think this is weird but Dan and I were just talking about Justin (your brother) the other day and when I saw you comment on Misty's blog I thought I'd see if you know how he is doing...Dan and Justin were best friends, but they lost contact probably 2 years ago, when Dan was finishing up school. Dan has been wanting to see how he is doing, but didn't know how to get in touch with him. Anyway..sorry to contact you through the blog, but it was fun to see you and your cute family! --Mari (west) Topham fluffylambs.blogspot.com
