We don't need no education....

Hello to my 3 or 4 readers :) Today has been the day I have been looking forward to for a month now. The first day of school! The kids were excited to get back to school and see their friends! Here I sit, home, alone for the first time in months and I feel totally lost! Oh who am I kidding? I got my workout in, my house is organized and CLEAN for the first time in MONTHS, I was finally able to go through stuff and decide what we will take with us when we leave. I have a large bag of clothes to give to the neighbor for her little girl, and another large bag of clothes of my own that I am getting rid of! I went and helped my friend Melanie unpack her house because they just moved in. I feel like I have accomplished more today than I have all summer. Wonder what I will accomplish tomorrow :) We did have a good summer though.... I learned a lot about myself, and my kids.....

  • Pajha is now able to play her Disney Princess game on the PS2 by herself, and doesn't want or need my help every 5 minutes anymore. :)
  • My kids are always bored. It doesn't matter that we just returned from the beach, waterpark or playplace. It doesn't matter that they have a million toys, xbox, or PS2. They are bored.
  • I can be laid back about my house. I didn't say I liked it. But I will survive if my house is a little untidy (emphasis on little)
  • It helps you be a better mom if you actually have the opportunity to miss your kids once in a while. That is really hard to do when they are lodged up your you know what!
  • Pajha will clean her room IF forced to (by forced, meaning you put the fear of an awaiting garbage bag in her sight)
  • Bedtime is still my favorite time of day
  • Pajha is addicted to Honey Nut Cheerios. If we are out of it, she isn't happy in the morning and if she isn't happy, no one is happy :)
  • Peyton talks a lot. The kid has a lot to say. He comes up with questions that are near impossible to answer. He can ask you the same question in 50 different ways in 5 minutes if he doesn't like the answer you give him, he just changes it up until either I say what he wants to hear or I give up and say "ask your Dad when he gets home"
  • Pajha really believes she is the boss. of Everyone
  • Peyton really believes he can punish Pajha when she does something she shouldn't
  • My kids love BBQ's (we have had a lot this summer)
  • If the kids are being quiet they are up to no good..... always
  • My baby isn't a baby anymore (yes..... I just realized this)

  • I NEED space. I am a bit chlosterphobic and Pajha doesn't understand that her being in my face 24/7 makes me feel like I can't breathe. She enjoys climbing on me, ramming her head into me, kissing me 5000 times a day, hugging me 10000 times a day (as much as I enjoy her affection sometimes it is a bit much) and if I sit down on the couch you better believe she will be on top of me in a matter of seconds. Bless her little heart :)
  • Pajha's Greek is better than she lets on. She has full conversations with the little girl next door and the lady at the mini market every day
  • I really really really hate Humidity, so does my hair, and my skin
  • My kids can get along (shocker) but only if they are playing something together that involves Spiderman and Polley Pockets...
  • My Dog is terrified of the kids. I think of all of us she is the most relieved to have them in school. She can relax now.

This summer has felt really long. The past summers we have spent here the kids have been in summer school for a few reasons. First of all... Peyton doesn't do well when his routine is messed up. They are impossible to keep entertained. Their friends are there. They get to go swimming and to the waterpark more often. This year we opted to forgo summer school in order to save money so we can be prepared for our move. It hasn't been easy but we survived. I love you two little rugrats, and I hope your first day of school was a blast! I wish I could put some pictures up, but since we are on a wonderful streak of things breaking... my camera decided to join in, along with both of our IPODS, and the Xbox 360. When will it end?????

When are you moving back to the good old US of A and where are you going to go?

Same question as Sherrie... It's so nice when you get some time to yourself to do the things that need to be done. I love the feeling of accomplishment.

I can relate to a few things on your list with the kids. Do you think your kids will continue some sort of Greek language classes when you move back so they can retain what Greek they have learned? If there is a class like that for kids that young...probably not here.

ps...we need to talk Janae into getting a blog.
