Pajha LOVES her new Princess bike!

We had another long weekend. Kids were out of school Friday, Monday and Tuesday for Cyprus holidays. I just realized that Easter was Sunday... they don't celebrate Easter until the end of April here so I am all backwards. So, Happy late Easter everyone.

About two years ago Bjay and I surprised Peyton with a new bike. We thought that he would like to start trying to learn how to ride one. Boy were we wrong. He got on, gave it one shot and a few tantrums and cries later he gave up. That was the end of it. So all this time his bike has been sitting, rusting, collecting dust outside. Not so new anymore. Monday morning he woke up and was outside playing. He came in begging for someone to teach him to ride his bike. I have to admit my first thought was "Great... a day of crying and bawling and arguing lies ahead"... and I really wasn't that excited about it. The bikes tires were flat so Bjay went to buy a pump (and decided to buy Pajha a bike too). We just went with it. He got on... tried... got off... got back on tried.... got off... and an hour later he was riding his bike. I felt a little guilty for not giving him the benefit of the doubt and than felt so proud of him. To see him stick with something and not just give up is rare. He is really hard on himself and likes things to go perfectly the first time. I told him I was so proud of him and he asks me "Why are you so proud of me?" so I told him that I was proud that he kept trying and didn't give up, and now he can ride his bike! It turned out to be a great day. Pajha didn't have any trouble learning (thanks to training wheels!). The kids have been riding bikes together since.
